ABOUT ABOUT

Green v Brown - the pros and cons of residential development

Our speakers will be discussing promotion of green belt sites and their allocation for residential development (Green) and the remediation and clean up of former industrial and other sites (Brown)

Paul Reed, Director of Residential Development at Talbots Law, and Tony Sadla, Land Partnership Director of Dunton Environmental, will be looking at promotion and remediation (not promotion and relegation . . . sorry, football fans!), including case studies and real world examples of successful developments.

They will be giving valuable insights into how and when the potential development of sites for new homes arises - whether on land which has become redundant following industrial or commercial uses, or in relation to the promotion and allocation of greenfield sites on the edge of built-up areas that may be developed.

Green
They will be discussing the distinction between greenfield and greenbelt sites; the view of planners on housing developments on green land; and the options for securing allocation of land for residential development and subsequent planning permission.

Brown
Including details on "call for sites", and the latest on-site cleaning technology to avoid the need for removal and disposal elsewhere incurring transportation and other costs
